What "questionable" means here

Not every complaint means a broker is fraudulent - platforms have outages, support can be slow, and trading losses are often just trading losses. "Questionable" on this site refers to specific, checkable patterns: license status that doesn't match claims, company details that don't line up, or a recurring pattern of withdrawal issues rather than an isolated one.

The checkable signals

Regulatory status (does the license the broker claims actually exist and cover this entity?), company transparency (is the legal entity, address, and ownership disclosed and consistent?), and complaint patterns (are withdrawal or account-access issues isolated incidents, or a recurring theme across many independent reports?).

What this site doesn't do (yet)

This is reference material on the categories and tactics involved - not currently a live, continuously updated list naming specific unlicensed firms. That kind of list requires pulling and verifying data from regulator sources on an ongoing basis, which is a planned addition rather than something built into the site today.

Where to start

If you're checking a specific broker: confirm their license on the regulator's own register first (see Fake Licences), then check for clone-firm impersonation (see Clone Firms), then look for withdrawal complaint patterns (see Withdrawal Complaints).
